High School for Gifted Natural Sciences (University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University) is one of the most famous specialized schools in the country.
The heat of the 10th grade exam at the Natural Science High School for Gifted Students is always `hot` because of its fierce competition among candidates.
Male student Ngo Quy Duong
Just majored in Mathematics… for 1 year
According to Ms. Ngo Thi Quynh Hoa (43 years old, Hanoi) – Duong’s mother, the male student had 6 years of studying at Hanoi Star Inter-school, starting when he was a 4th grade student.
`At that time, I confided in my child about the 10th grade entrance exam that if he planned to take the entrance exam, he should study Math to reduce exam pressure. For example, if he took the Chemistry exam, there might be pressure.
Although the change was a bit `close`, in the entrance exam for the 10th grade, Duong still excelled and became the valedictorian of the Math class of the Natural Sciences High School with a score of 26/30, of which

Ms. Hoa recalls, the time to announce the benchmark score for 10th grade Natural Science major fell on the evening after completing the final subject of the public 10th grade entrance exam of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
Because she was responsible for setting the table for her children, Ms. Hoa arrived early to prepare.
`I was very surprised because after taking the exam, my child guessed about 25.5 – 26 points. But I was also a bit skeptical, because the other students were also very excellent, so I didn’t dare to think that my child could score.
During the learning process, I do not put pressure on my child to be the best, but just try his best in every step to achieve his goals.
The valedictorian `enthusiasts games` and loves football
In another development, Duong is considered a sociable and friendly person, always maintains good relationships with friends and is trusted and loved by teachers.
`When Duong was in elementary school, I accompanied him more. When he reached middle school, I knew his independence and self-discipline, so I didn’t interfere too much in his decisions, in most things.
Duong is the valedictorian who is `enthusiastic about games` and loves football
Duong balances her study and play time quite effectively.
According to Ms. Hoa, Duong is even very passionate about football and likes to play games.
It is this study and entertainment that makes Duong always in a comfortable state, not always `tight as a string`.
Always let your child decide everything for himself
Regarding the issue of studying in specialized schools – selective classes, which has been `hot` recently, Ms. Hoa also expressed a few opinions.
`My family has never had the experience of studying at a specialized school before, but I have never had negative thoughts about specialized schools. I personally feel that whether or not the school goes wrong is largely due to the parents’ direction and efforts.
I even see that most of the students in specialized schools are very good, not only in studying but also in soft skills and how to treat people in society.
That is the thought of every mother who is about to have a child attending a specialized school.
