Israeli news site Walla quoted an unnamed senior officer as saying that Israeli engineering forces had blown up more than 100 Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli officers said the country’s engineering force is using robots and special explosive devices, including penetrating bullets, to knock out Hamas’s tunnel network in the Gaza Strip.
`We will make the shafts and tunnels collapse on top of them. They made the mistake of choosing a location where they cannot escape. They will die in those tunnels,` the Israeli officer warned.
Over the years, Hamas forces have built a tunnel network as dense as an underground city in the Gaza Strip.
The Hamas military uses these tunnels as weapons warehouses, bunkers, command centers, and a lifeline for the transportation of clandestine weapons, including rocket launchers.
The tunnel system is so dense and wide that Israeli forces call them a subway system, allowing Hamas forces to connect with each other and move safely without being detected.
Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, said on November 2 that the Israeli army is operating inside Gaza City and besieging the city from many directions.
`We have reached another important stage in the war. Israeli forces are in the center of northern Gaza, operating in Gaza City, surrounding the city and intensifying (the ground offensive),
According to General Halevi, Israeli forces `are present in important areas of Gaza City`.
He said Israeli forces were `fighting in a dense and complex urban area, requiring professional and courageous combat`.
He added that Israeli forces were fighting `at close range against the enemy` and that ground forces were deployed with `accurate intelligence, firepower from the air and sea`.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on November 2 continued to call on Palestinian civilians to evacuate the northern Gaza area in the context of increased Israeli military operations in this area.
`Nothing can stop us. I call on those who are not involved (in the fighting): Get out, move south. Because we will not stop the campaign to eliminate Hamas,` Mr. Netanyahu
The escalation of fighting between Israel and Hamas in recent days has left more than 9,000 people in Gaza dead and more than 32,000 others injured.
US President Joe Biden said on November 1 that the war between Israel and Hamas needs to stop.
